A Word about Religion and Ethics in America

Those who seek to derail and disrupt the construction of mosques have violated an essential American social contract. Would such individuals like to live in a society where the principle they are supporting was an organizing principle of the entire society? In other words, they may dislike Islam, but would they want to live in a society that does not respect religious freedom? Sure, they may point to the lack of religious freedoms in some Muslim-majority countries, but they themselves have already started on the slippery-slope of raising our own homegrown form of religious intolerance.
